We have studied the magnetotransport properties of the layered Sr2RuO4 comp
ound. By means of the Boltzmann equation, the in plane Hall coefficient and
the transverse magnetoresistance have been obtained taking into account th
e Fermi surface curvature. Different time collisions have been considered f
or describing the scattering of the electrons in the t(2g) bands. We show t
hat, while the magnetoresistance has a conventional Fermi liquid behaviour
even in presence of a complex Fermi surface, the Hall coefficient has a str
ong temperature dependence leading to a sign changing at similar to 35 K. T
he comparison with the experiments is discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science
