Abstract
The cooling power of pulse-tube coolers is zero if the thermal expansion co efficient is zero. Therefore, the lowest temperature achievable is 2. K for He-4 and 1 K for He-3. Here we calculate the behavior in the ultimate low- temperature region where the thermal expansion coefficient is close to zero . (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
