Abstract
Specimens of the form Ca1-xLaxMnO3 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.2) are utilized to study the effect of electron doping on the ma gnetic saturation moment M-sat(5 K). The systematic behavior of M-sat(5 K) vs x is understood through a phenomenological model which suggests the exis tence of local ferromagnetic regions within the antiferromagnetic host for 0.03<x<0.08.
