Abstract
An audit of the introduction of a protocol for thromboprophylaxis at caesar ean section revealed over treatment of low risk women and the under treatme nt of high risk women. A routine computer generated risk assessment profile was introduced as part of a maternity information system. Reaudit showed a significant improvement in adherence to the thromboprophylaxis protocol in all risk groups.
