Ap. Sidorenko et al., The assessment of genetic polymorphism in populations of Colorado potato beetle Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say) using RAPD markers, RUSS J GEN, 36(5), 2000, pp. 526-531
Four decanucleotide primers were chosen to detect polymorphism for randomly
amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) in populations of Colorado potato beetle.
The variability of RAPD patterns was studied in three oblasts (Kiev, Mosco
w and Kurgan) that are geographically distant and that considerably differ
in ecological and climatic conditions affecting the development of this bee
tle. A high level of intrapopulation polymorphism exceeding interpopulation
differences was revealed. RAPD-marker subsets differing in frequency and i
n the distribution throughout the studied populations were revealed.
