Physical and mathematical models of mass transfer and ion sorption by
swelling soils are suggested. The equation of mass transfer is similar
to the telegraph equation and does not include a function (an isother
m) of material sorption. It is solved in combination with the equation
of convective diffusion. The exact and approximate solutions of the e
quations of concentration and sorption of material in surface soil lay
ers both inside the swelling particles and in filtration channels were
found. The mechanism of accumulation of salt crystals in these layers
is considered.
