The form (width, inclination) of the hysteresis loop of ferromagnets is cal
culated with the use of the assumption that the distribution of the critica
l fields obeys a normal law and that the lag in the displacement of the dom
ain boundaries is due to fluctuations in the number of defects. The calcula
ted loops and actual loops are compared for a copper-bearing iron alloy sub
jected to preliminary quenching and subsequent aging at 730 degrees C for t
he different amounts of time, when particles of different sizes are precipi
tated from the solid solution.
