Na. Avetov et Sy. Trofimov, SOIL COVER OF TAIGA AND FLOODPLAIN LANDSCAPES IN THE PUR RIVER BASIN OF WESTERN SIBERIA, Eurasian soil science, 30(1), 1997, pp. 25-28
The soil cover of fluvial terraces above the floodplain of the Pyakupu
r River is formed by variations of iron-illuvial podzols, humus-ferrug
inous podzols with gleyic pockets (tongues), boggy-podzolic, and oligo
trophic peat soils. The specific features of the soil cover in floodpl
ain landscapes are caused by the superposition of soil-forming process
es of the taiga forest and alluvial types. It is reasonable to conside
r the above-mentioned soils as a separate taxon.
