Abstract
Improvements in operative techniques and resuscitation strategies now allow the severely and multiply injured patient to survive long enough to exhibi t extreme derangements in physiology that would have been considered unusua l in the past. The triad of hypothermia, coagulopathy, and acidosis now is encountered often in this setting. This article describes the evaluation an d management options currently used to manage patients with this deadly tri ad.
