Mv. Burkaltseva et Vn. Krylov, COMPARISON OF D3112 AND B3 TRANSPOSABLE P HAGE INSERTIONS LOCATED IN THE PSEUDOMONAS-AERUGINOSA CHROMOSOME, Genetika, 33(4), 1997, pp. 553-555
Preferential chromosomal integration sites (sites of conservative tran
sposition) of transposable phage D3112 were identified by means of pul
sed-field gel electrophoresis and separation of restriction fragments
of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa chromosome. Phage B3 was shown to differ
from D3112 with respect to this trait. High site-specificity and regi
onal specificity, typical for conservative transposition of D3112, can
partially explain the absence of mutations in biosynthetic P. aerugin
osa genes upon cell lysogenization with D3112 phage (unlike B3 phage).
