Exact solutions for free vibration of transversely isotropic piezoelectriccircular plates

By employing the general solution for coupled three-dimensional equations o f a transversely isotropic piezoelectric body, this paper investigates the free vibration of a circular plate made of piezoelectric material. Three-di mensional exact solutions are then obtained under two specified boundary co nditions, which can be used for both axisymmetric and non-axisymmetric case s. Numerical results are finally presented.
