Abstract
This article explores the development of Reversal Theory and its applicatio n to art practice with offenders under the supervision of the United Kingdo m Probation Service. The subject of the study is a woman, convicted of crue lty to a child, with a possible diagnosis of Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy . The original paper, which was the source of this article, was presented a t the 10th International Reversal Theory Conference at The Windsor Universi ty, Ontario, Canada, in June 1999. It has been revised and extended with th e support of Michael Apter, one of the originators of Reversal Theory.
