Abstract
In the multicenter, National Institutes of Health and Guidant-sponsored CAB G Patch Trial, New York Heart Association functional class predicted mortal ity independent of left ventricular ejection fraction (all patients had a l eft ventricular ejection fraction <0.36). After adjusting for New York Hear t Association functional class, the left ventricular ejection fraction did not have as strong an association with mortality.
