Abstract
Iodine contrast media are detectable in the bloodstream after ERCP, and sen sitivity reactions have been described. The risk is very small, and the phe nomenon is therefore difficult to study. This review discusses the possible need for preventative strategies, and recommends that endoscopists conside r the issue and define their own policies. (Am J Gastroenterol 2000;95:1398 -1401.
