Abstract
Imino Diels-Alder reaction of imines with 2,3-dihydrofuran or 3,4-dihydro-2 H-pyran proceeded smoothly in the presence of a catalytic amount (0.5 mol % ) of ytterbium triflate to afford faro[3,2-c]- and pyrano[3,2-c] quinolines conveniently in high yield.
