The authors report a case of a 20-year-old woman with Takayasu's arteritis
(TA) presenting with recurrent erythema nodosum-like lesions, elevated acut
e-phase proteins and aortographic findings of multiple aneurysmal dilatatio
ns of the aorta without the coexistence of steno-occlusive lesions. This fi
nding indicates that aneurysms could be an early manifestation of TA and no
t necessarily a change secondary to stenotic lesions.
