P. Scheibl, Can the induction of abortion in heifers mated accidentally and too young reasonably be expected from the owner?, DEUT TIER W, 107(4), 2000, pp. 156-158
The objective of the presented expert opinion is the reasonability of a ter
mination of unwanted pregnancies for the owner of young heifers mated accid
entally by a bull. Because the heifers were too young when conceiving they
showed retarded growth and dystocia when delivering after normal course of
pregnancy. These problems could have been avoided by pregnancy diagnosis an
d subsequent induction of abortion in time.
