Gallstone ileus: CT findings

Gallstone ileus is a rare complication of recurrent gallstone cholecystitis . The classic radiographic tried of small bowel obstruction, pneumobilia an d ectopic gallstone on abdominal plain radiograph is described with CT imag ing, Because of the better resolution of CT compared with abdominal radiogr aphy and its recent accession to emergency use, radiologists should be awar e of CT findings of gallstone ileus. We report a case in which gallstone il eus was initially diagnosed by CT.
