Abstract
We attempt to develop further the blockmodeling of networks, so as bet ter to capture the network structure. For this purpose a richer struct ure than ordinary (valued) graphs has to be used for a model. Such str uctures are valued graphs with typified (complete, dominant, regular, etc.) connections. Based on the proposed formalization, the blockmodel ing is cast as an optimization problem.
