Tests were conducted to determine whether an analog ENG system using a 12 M
Hz channel bandwidth can provide a quality of service equivalent to that of
existing analog ENG systems using 17 and 18 MHz channel bandwidths. The pe
rformance of both systems was compared under controlled conditions similar
to those found in real-life transmission channels. Conclusions about the re
plication of the service obtained are based on differences in transmission
robustness, video and audio signal quality, and adjacent channel degradatio
n.
