Abstract
This paper is concerned with performance assessment of multiinput-multioutp
ut (MIMO) feedforward plus feedback controllers. It is shown that the minim
um feedforward plus feedback control variance can be estimated from routine
operating data, and can then be used as a benchmark for performance assess
ment of feedforward and/or feedback controllers. The proposed method is ill
ustrated by a numerical example and an industrial application.
