Abstract
This paper presents the time delay filter (TDF) in which time delay is inte ntionally adopted in a filter and then time delay filter-based deadbeat cen tral of a process with first-order plus dead time is implemented. The syste m stability is guaranteed with the Nyquist criteria and the PI controller i s tuned by the frequency specifications. The time delay filter is designed; to cancel the poles of the closed-loop PI control system. Examples show tha t the proposed method is very effective and is robust to modeling errors.
