Pj. Dyson et al., Applications of laser desorption and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry at the transition between clusters and colloids, INORG CHEM, 39(12), 2000, pp. 2430
The advent of laser desorption/ionization and electrospray ionization techn
iques in mass spectrometry has enabled the study of large metal carbonyl cl
uster anions. These new methods provide both molecular weight and structura
l information and allow the study of cluster mixtures whose characteristics
approach those of colloids.
