The nonaxisymmetric thermoplasticity problem for a laminar solid of revolut
ion is solved by successive approximation. The theory of deformation along
slightly curved trajectories linearized by the secondary-stress method is e
mployed. Numerical examples show that the proposed procedure reduces the nu
mber of successive approximations by 20 % relative to the traditional appro
ach.
