Abstract
A practical model for precise simulation of the high density disc (19.5 GB) channel, is suggested and compared with the linear convolution model. Nonl inear effect compensation is shown to be useful for the practical approach. Partial response maximum likelihood (PRML) simulation results with the non linearity compensated channel model are presented.
