Abstract
Given as a single dose to the mother during labour, nevirapine can protect the neonate from HIV-1 infection for up to 7 days, However, after maternal nevirapine therapy during pregnancy, neonatal plasma concentrations of nevi rapine decline more rapidly, suggesting in-utero liver enzyme induction.
