Abstract
This paper describes two taxa of colourless euglenophytes (Distigma elegans Christen and Khawkinea fritschii (E.G. Pringsheim et Hovasse) E.G. Pringsh eim ex Angeler comb. nov.) from Spain, that have only once before been repo rted from Switzerland (1959) and England (1950), respectively. Pringsheim a ssigned the latter species invalidly to Kwawkinea, hence it is validated in this study. Both species are illustrated and compared with their authentic strains, on which the original descriptions are based.
