Unresolved gamma transitions of Te-114 and of Sn-112 sorted into one-dimens
ional and two-dimensional spectra have been studied. The reaction Ni-64 + C
r-54 at bombarding energies 230, 240, 250, 260, 270 MeV was used and the ga
mma-rays were detected with the EUROBALL array. In the case of the nucleus
114Te the values of the multiplicity as a function of bombarding energy and
of the moment of inertia were obtained. The effective moment of inertia wa
s found to be almost constant in the interval I = 20-40 h, in contrast to t
he decreasing behaviour of the dynamic moment of inertia for the terminatin
g yrast band. The ridge valley structures in E-gamma 1 x E-gamma 2 spectra
of Te-114 and of Sn-112 were analysed with the fluctuation analysis techniq
ue. The analysis of the two nuclei are compared to simulations based on mic
roscopic cranking calculations with residual interactions included. A rathe
r good agreement is found between data and predictions. (C) 2000 Elsevier S
