After recalling the main motivation for baryonic dark matter, it is argued
that the featureless character of the galactic rotation curves strongly sug
gests that galactic halos should be predominantly baryonic. Moreover, it is
shown that the Fall-Rees theory for the 'formation of globular clusters au
tomatically leads - without any further physical assumption - to a specific
model of baryonic dark halos, whose observational implications are stresse
d.
