Studies on the ultrastructure of Lachnum and related genera (Hyaloscyphaceae, Helotiales, Ascomycetes)

The ultrastructural characters of hairs and asci of six genera of the Hyalo scyphaceae, Albotricha, Incrucipulum, Brunnipila, Capitotricha, Dasyscyphel la and Lachnum were studied using transmission electron microscopy. Clear i ntergeneric differences exist in the hair wall structure between the studie d genera. Both hair and ascal ultrastructural features support the narrow g enus concept in the group of Lechnum and its segregates. The genus Albotric ha is found to be closely related to Capitotricha.
