Abstract
A new unsymmetrical polydiacetylene having a pyrimidine ring and an azobenz
ene chromophore directly bound to the two ends of a diacetylene moiety was
synthesized with good yield. The diacetylene monomer could easily dissolve
in common organic solvents, and be polymerized thermally or under light ill
umination. Micro and macroscopic third-order susceptibilities were estimate
