"False-positive" testicular perfusion in power Doppler sonography in testicular torsion

We report about a patient with acute scrotal pain. Power Doppler sonography demonstrated arterial testicular perfusion. As no amelioration was achieve d by conservative treatment, surgical exploration was done after 7 days. In traoperatively, we found a partial testicular torsion with a 180 degrees ro tation of the testis at the rete testis. This case demonstrates, that the d etection of intratesticular arterial blood flow cannot exclude testicular t orsion.
