Abstract
Erosion of boiler tubes causes serious problems in many pulverized coal-fir ed utility boilers. The Eulerian approach was employed to predict the behav iour of the particulate phase. Traditionally, the Eulerian approach shows d eficiencies when used in the numerical prediction of erosion, because of a lack of an appropriate wall boundary condition for the particulate phase. C omparison of the numerical prediction for a single tube erosion with experi mental data shows very good agreement. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All r ights reserved.
