Sc. Moon et al., Synthesis of tetrakis(multifluoro-4-pyridyl)porphin derivatives as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, BIOORG MED, 10(13), 2000, pp. 1435-1438
New tetrakis(multifluoro-4-pyridyl)porphin derivatives (2-4) and water solu
ble porphyrin (5) were synthesized to investigate their interactions with a
cetylcholinesterase from electric eel. These compounds have been found to b
e the potent reversible inhibitors of the enzyme with K-i values of mu M ra
nge. In addition, porphyrin (5) showed broad spectrum of anticancer activit
ies. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
