Abstract
Analogues of the tumor-associated T-antigen (beta Gal1,3 alpha GalNAc) cont aining 4,6-epidithio and 4,6-thietan modifications were synthesized from th e alpha-allyl glycoside of beta Gal alpha 1,3GlcNAc via suitable thiocyanat e derivatives. Binding to three leguminous lectins as model systems was inv estigated in an enzyme-linked lectin assay (ELLA) and IC50 values comparabl e to the corresponding natural disaccharides T-antigen, lactose and N-acety llactosamine were found.
