Abstract
Syntrichia minor (Bizot) stat. et comb. nov. (basionym: Tortula papillosiss ima var. minor Bizot) is proposed at the rank of species and its geographic al range is extended to Europe (Iberian Peninsula). Thf species is describe d, lectotypified, illustrated, and compared with Syntrichia virescens (De N ot.) Ochyra, front, which it call be distinguished by the type of papillosi ty.
