Abstract
The detailed study of WT sections in western Pyrenees, SE of the Iberian Pe ninsula and Tunisia demonstrate that Hedbergella hillebrandti previously th ought to be restricted to the Lower Paleocene also occurs from the Upper Ma astrichtian. This species originally attributed to the genus Globigerina is transfered in Hedbergella and is one of the planktonic foraminifers surviv ing the mass extinction of the WT boundary.
