Abstract
The use of azo dye, namely 2-mercapto-5-(2,4-dihydroxy-5-carboxyphenylazo-1 )-1,3,4-tiadiazole (METIDAREZ-beta) was proposed for the spectrophotometric determination of Fe(II) in the presence of other microelements as: Ca, Mg (Vitamin 15 Solco); Ca, Co (Merz Spezial Dragees) and Ca, Co, Cu, Mn, K (Un icap T) in the pharmaceutical multivitamin preparations. The results of the spectrophotometric determinations were evaluated on statistically and comp ared with the determinations by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The a dvantage of the presented method is its precision and reproducibility of th e results.
