Abstract
(S)-1-Methylheptyl 2-[4-(4-dodecyloxybenzoyloxy)phenyl]-pyrimidine-5-carbox ylate and its racemic modification are synthesised; miscibility studies, in vestigations of defect textures, differential scanning calorimetry and elec trical field studies show that this material exhibits an antiferroelectric twist grain boundary TGBC*(A) analogue of the Abrikosov flux phase found in superconductors.
