Abstract
The formation of a transient Michael adduct, triggering an in-situ isomeriz ation of the heterodiene, is postulated to explain the reversal of the dias tereoselectivity of high pressure-promoted hetero-Diels-Alder reactions car ried out in the presence of pyridine.
