Abstract
Binuclear manganese complex [(phen)(2)Mn-2(mu-O) (mu-Ac)(2) (H2O)(2)](ClO4) (2) . 4H(2)O was synthesized by the reaction of MnAc3 . 2H(2)O with phen in the HAc-NaAc buffer(pH = 4. 0) X-ray diffraction result for the single cry stal shows that the crystal belongs to monoclinic system, space group P2(1) /n, with a = 1. 025 28(5) nm, b = 1. 792 75(9) nm, c = 1. 984 14(10) nm, be ta = 94. 843 0(10)degrees, V = 3. 634 0(3) nm(3), Z = 4. There isa obsorpti on peak at 480 nm in UV-Vis spectrum. Cyclic voltammogram shows that the co mplex in MeOH undergoes a quasi-reversible one-electron redox reaction at E -1/2 = 0. 7 V.
