Coastline changes nearby harbour structures: comparative analysis of one-line models versus field data

The coastline changes at Wladyslawowo harbour in Poland, characterised by d istinct longshore sediment transport, were analysed using available field d ata. The computations of shoreline evolution were made using four models: G ENESIS, LITPACK, UNIBEST and IBW PAN software called SAND94. The model resu lts for shoreline changes were compared with respective field data. The com parison of the models' results versus measurements and inter-comparisons of the models were the main objectives of the study. An attempt was also made to assess the models with respect to user-friendliness, sensitivity and ef ficiency. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
