Abstract
Analysis of differential gene expression is a classic tool in experimental biology. Broadly applicable new methods to identify and quantitative differ ential mRNA profiles, such as long distance differential display PCR and cD NA microarrays, promise to greatly accelerate understanding of mechanisms o f development, differentiation, and disease.
