Abstract
2-(2-Furyl)pyrrore, 2,5-bis[2-(2-furyl)ethenyl]furan, and 2-[2-(2-furyl)eth enyl]-5-[2-(thienyl)ethenyl]furan were synthesized via Horner, Witig and cy clization methods and they were electropolymerized oxidatively. The synthet ic routes of monomers, electrochemical behaviour of polymers, and interpret ation of the results are described. Application of higher cathodic potentia ls to the film formed on the electrode surface improved the redoxability an d electroactivity of the polymers. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
