Abstract
A new monomer, 2,9-diamino benzofuro[2,3-b]benzofuran was synthesized and c haracterized by means of IR, H-1 NMR, MS and elemental analysis. New polyam ides from this monomer and several aromatic diacids were prepared by direct and indirect polyamidation procedures. Thermal properties of these polyami des are compared, the results showed that the direct polyamidation generate s polyamides with higher molecular weights and enhanced thermal stabilities .
