K. Okamoto et M. Fumizawa, MEASUREMENT OF TRANSIENT DENSITY DISTRIBUTION USING MACH-ZEHNDER INTERFEROGRAM IMAGE, JSME international journal. Series B, fluids and thermal engineering, 37(3), 1994, pp. 503-508
In order to measure the transient density distribution of the exchange
process caused by a negatively buoyant jet, an automatic and high-rel
iability system has been developed. The upward jet of air into a box w
ith helium was visualized using the Mach-Zehnder interferogram. The VT
R images of the Mach-Zehnder interferogram are automatically analyzed
by an engineering work station, resulting in the desired two-dimension
al transient density distribution. The stratification of air and heliu
m was clarified from the measured density distributions.
