Abstract
Samples of nanoparticles containing single and/or multiple chains were prep ared by precipitation from dilute solutions of syndiotactic polystyrene (s- PS). Vibrational spectra of the nanoparticles were determined at room tempe rature and were compared with bulk s-PS. Significant changes in line shape and line width were observed in the spectra of the nanoparticles. Infrared (IR) analysis of the nanoparticles also indicated a faster crystallization rate and higher crystallinity than for the bulk sample.
