Abstract
The construction of link polynomials associated with finite dimensional rep resentations of ribbon quasi-Hopf algebras is discussed in terms of the for mulation of an appropriate Markov trace. We then show that this Markov trac e is invariant under twisting of the quasi-Hopf structure, which in turn im plies twisting invariance of the associated link polynomials.
