Abstract
EPR studies of Cu2+ ions doped in KZnClSO4. 3H(2)O single crystals have bee n studied at different temperatures. Two magnetically inequivalent Cu2+ sit es have been identified. The Cu2+ ions in the latticeare found to be in rho mbic symmetry. The temperature variation studies of polycrystalline EPR spe ctra reveal that Cu2+ ions exhibit dynamic and static Jahn-Teller effects a bove and below the Jahn-Teller transition temperature, respectively. The te mperature-dependant spin-Hamiltonian parameters were evaluated and discusse d. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
