Abstract
Speed of sound and densities of solutions of mixtures of seven ethanolamine s with water were measured over the full range of composition at 25, 35, an d 45 degrees C. Results of these measurements were used to calculate adiaba tic compressibilities, excess volumes, partial molar and apparent molar vol umes, and apparent molar compressibilities. Knowledge of the above properti es of these mixtures are a basis for understanding some of the molecular in teractions in these systems. From the analysis of the results, the type of interactions between the ethanolamines and water are discussed in terms of the number and size of the alkyl groups attached to the nitrogen atom of et hanolamine.
